State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R – Kankakee) was sworn in to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 101st General Assembly on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
“The State of Illinois faces many challenges going forward including our tax burden, pensions, bill backlog, and confidence in government,” Rep. Parkhurst stated. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House to find real solutions to these problems and not just relying on political expediency.”
The 118 members of the Illinois House of Representatives were sworn in at noon at the University of Illinois in Springfield before family, friends, and supporters. Rep. Parkhurst, a practicing defense attorney, was first sworn in on January 11, 2016 with the historic 100th General Assembly.
“I am truly honored to return to Springfield and serve as State Representative for the good and hardworking people of the 79th District,” Rep. Parkhurst continued. “My office is open to everyone and I look forward to and encourage constituents to contact me for help and to discuss issues for our district. I’m excited to get to work on behalf of my district and the entire State of Illinois.”
