Kankakee, IL – State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting a jobs fair on July 20th at the Knights of Columbus. The jobs fair is free and open to all residents in the 79th district. The event will have over 50 local, state, and national employers for job seekers to meet. Potential applicants are encouraged to dress to impress and bring several copies of their resumes to hand out to employers. To help interested applicants in their job search process, there will be several workshops offered including “Effective Strategies for State Employment” at 9:15, “How to Write a Resume That Will Get You Noticed” at 10:30, and “I Have an Interview…Now What?” at 11:45. The entire fair will go from 9 am – 12:00 pm.
“Last year this event was very successful. We were able to connect hundreds of candidates with employers. I am happy to host this event once again to help those who are looking for a career change or want to work find work. I hope these workshops and gathering will help residents find the jobs they are looking for,” Rep. Parkhurst said about the job fair.
