Kankakee, IL – State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R – Kankakee) announced today Governor Bruce Rauner issued a state disaster proclamation for Kankakee County.
“Kankakee experienced severe flooding. This proclamation activates state emergency operations in Springfield to coordinate with local officials to keep our residents safe and protect important infrastructure,” Rep. Parkhurst stated.
More rainfall is forecasted.
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency’s (IEMA) acting director, Jennifer Ricker, is reminding people to use caution when driving in flooded areas and to turn around if roads are flooded.
