Rep. Parkhurst Lends Legal Experience to New Roles in Springfield

Springfield, IL… State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) announced her committee assignments for the 100th General Assembly today, including appointments to the two standing judiciary committees, Civil and Criminal, and the Special Committee on Restorative Justice.
“As a practicing lawyer, I look forward to bringing my expertise to the table and weighing in on the important civil and criminal matters that will come before my committees” said Rep. Parkhurst. “The Special Committee on Restorative Justice is a fairly new committee formed with the express purpose of helping ex-offenders, especially juveniles, successfully reintegrate into society and reduce recidivism. I am ready and willing to be a part of the Governor’s admirable goal of reducing Illinois’ overburdened prison population by 25% within the next decade.”
In addition, Rep. Parkhurst was also appointed to the House General Services Appropriations Committee and the Committee on Transportation; Roads and Bridges.
“My priority in Springfield is first and foremost my district,” Rep. Parkhurst added. “The Kankakee area is a major player in the state’s role as a transportation hub. I plan to use my position on the committees I am assigned, including the transportation committee, to work with other legislators so together we can move the state, and thereby the 79th district, forward.”
Rep. Parkhurst is eager to hear from constituents on these issues and can be reached through her new website located
