Parkhurst Sworn in to Historic 100th General Assembly

Springfield, IL…State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) today was sworn in to the Illinois House of Representatives officially marking the beginning of the historic 100th General Assembly.

“Illinois is in dire financial shape and Illinoisans continue to lose confidence in the State’s ability to navigate through this crisis,” stated Rep. Parkhurst. “I welcome the opportunity to work with this new wave of reform minded legislators to address the needs of our state and focus on the issues and not political expediency.”

The 118 members of the Illinois House of Representatives were sworn in at noon at the University of Illinois in Springfield before family, friends, and supporters. Rep. Parkhurst, a practicing defense attorney, was among more than a dozen other freshman sworn in for the first time.

“I am honored to serve as State Representative for the hardworking people of the 79th district that I grew up with and came to know throughout my campaign,” continued Rep. Parkhurst. “My office is open to everyone and I look forward to and encourage constituents to contact me for help and to discuss issues for our district. I’m excited to get to work on behalf of my district and the entire State of Illinois.”

The 79th District consists of portions of Grundy, Kankakee, and Will Counties. Representative Parkhurst will be opening a new office located at 370 E Court Street in Kankakee. She can also be reached through her new website located at
